Historically growth in container turnover breaks several records at the Port of Aarhus

The combination of new container routes, the geopolitical situation and an increased need for Aarhus as a logistics hub are sending a record number of containers to Denmark's largest commercial port. The growth comes on top of an already extraordinary start to 2025.

Aarhus enters busiest cruise week of the year: Over 16,000 guests visits the City of Smiles

Five cruise ships visit Aarhus in just four days in week 29 with a total of 16,298 guests. In other words, it will be the busiest cruise week of the year at the port of Aarhus, also bringing a record number of tourists to the City of Smiles.

The Port of Aarhus and the University of Southern Denmark are working on a project to spread eelgrass in the Aarhus Bay. After a year of plantings, a picture is drawn.

The Port of Aarhus becomes part of another direct route to Asia with Maersk's largest container ships

Denmark's largest commercial port will once again receive a weekly call of Mærsk mainliners on a direct route between Europe and Asia. In addition, Aarhus will also become a new intermediate station for goods going to and from Poland. Both new calls strengthen security of supply and increase business opportunities.

The tugboat Jakob has helped more than 1,000 schoolchildren learn about Aarhus as a port city

During 2025, the historic tug Jakob has had well over 1,000 schoolchildren from more than 30 school classes on guided sailing trips in the port of Aarhus. Demand for the trips was so great that as many as 62 classes did not reach it until the tours were sold out. The plan is to repeat the success in 2026.

Testing new concrete technology: Must reduce CO2 emissions and promote biodiversity

Concrete technologies of the future are to be tested at the Port of Aarhus as part of a new project led by the Danish Technological Institute. The aim is to find new concrete technologies with a lower carbon footprint that simultaneously create habitats for marine animal and plant species in the constructions.
