Carbon Neutal by 2030
Every day, we work towards becoming carbon neutral in scope 1 and 2 by 2030. It's ambitious. But we're well on our way.

The Path to Carbon Neutrality in 2030
As Denmark's largest commercial port, we have a special responsibility and commitment to the society we are part of. And we can lead the way. Port of Aarhus is one of the first ports in the world to join the Science Based Targets initiative. Here, we commit to the ambitious goal of keeping the global temperature rise below 1.5 degrees.
We are working to become carbon neutral in our own operations by 2030. The plan was laid out in 2020, and since then, we have taken significant steps towards the goal.
Our plan towards carbon neutrality is based on three key areas:
Significant CO2 Reduction and More Green Initiatives
Since 2018, we have reduced our total CO₂e emissions by 659 tonnes – equivalent to a 32 percent reduction.
We are also working to reduce CO2 emissions from our suppliers and partners. We engage in dialogue and partnerships with suppliers to ensure the most climate-friendly and sustainable products and services. This also applies to construction projects, where we reward suppliers with a newly developed procurement model for delivering a lower carbon footprint.
