The completion of the Omniterminal is taking shape

Over the summer, work on the 430 meters of new quay at the Omni Terminal has really picked up speed. The sand filling is now largely complete, and the pouring of the first section of the quay structure has begun.

Before the summer holidays, the area was essentially an open harbor basin surrounded by sheet piling and anchors. Over the summer, however, MT Højgaard Danmark and the other parties involved have made significant progress on the project, and the area has been transformed in just a few months.

Today, the quay area is almost completely filled with sand, which forms the foundation for the future port area. Hundreds of concrete piles are also nearing completion, having been driven into the ground to support the crane rails that will be installed later.

The project has also reached a special milestone. The first concrete pour is underway, and work is currently focused on casting the quay beam, which forms the top structure at the front edge of the quay.

Work on the 430 meters of new quay is expected to be completed around the turn of the year. Once the project is finished, the Omniterminal will have been expanded by approximately 180,000 square meters of new port area.
