Exhibition about the Port of Aarhus

On the cruise dock opposite Dokk1 in Aarhus, you can experience the Port of Aarhus in a unique exhibition.

The exhibition is open around the clock, every day of the week – and it’s free of charge.

A visit well worth making if you want to learn more about Denmark’s largest commercial port.

Denmark's largest commercial port - inside a container

On the left side of the exhibition, you will find an introduction to the port and our role in society, both nationally and internationally.

From there, you are taken through more than 180 years of port history with a timeline and a colorful map of the port area, illustrating how the Port of Aarhus has developed side by side with the city over the years.

On the right side, you’ll get an overview of the port’s structure. Here, you can learn more about the different vessels that call at the port, the cranes, vehicles, and everything else that plays a role in our daily operations. In short, you’ll discover how the port functions on an everyday basis.

At the center of the exhibition, you’ll find examples of the many goods that pass through the port. And you will also meet a selection of our employees who share insights into their roles at the port.

Visit us at the cruise dock in Aarhus

After visiting the exhibition, you will have gained a better understanding of what we do and how much the Port of Aarhus contributes to society.

You will also see the crucial role we play in securing Denmark’s supply chain as an essential part of the country’s critical infrastructure. The exhibition is open around the clock, every day of the week – and it is completely free of charge.

You will find the exhibition at the cruise dock in Aarhus, right across from Dokk1. If you set your GPS to Balticagade 1, 8000 Aarhus C, you will arrive at the right spot.

Please note that the container will be closed during the winter months to protect the exhibition from the weather.

Port of Aarhus establishes Jutland's largest dry port

Recognizing the need to optimize logistics and goods flow, the Port of Aarhus has taken an ambitious step towards the future with the establishment of Aarhus Dry Port. This strategically located logistics hub acts as a dry port, extending the port's reach and efficiency far beyond the coastline, and creating a seamless link between sea and land transport.

70%

of the container transport in Danish ports comes through our port
