Experience the port from the inside at Open Port 2026

On August 29th, the Port of Aarhus once again opens its gates for a day filled with experiences, activities, and insights into Denmark's largest commercial port, as Open Port takes place.
Last time, around 8,000 guests visited the event, which once again this year features large machinery, fun boat-building workshops for children, tours of the port, entertainment by Motor Mille, and much, much more.
Experiences for the whole family
What's inside a container? What is dry bulk? And how tall are the cranes? Open Port offers visitors a unique opportunity to get up close with the port's many functions and businesses.
On Balticagade, more than 20 companies will be present with powerful machinery, fast boats, and many other experiences for people of all ages. You can also take a guided tour by bus or boat.
I look forward to us being able to open the gates and invite everyone to visit the port. Together with the many businesses in the area, we are a cornerstone of the Danish supply chain, and we love to talk about it. I hope everyone has a day filled with new experiences, offering a deeper insight into Denmark's largest commercial port,
says Ulrik Andersen, CEO of Aarhus Port.
The event is completely free and opens at 10:00 AM. Motor Mille will take the stage with her show, and everyone is welcome to board a tugboat, a truck, or something entirely different.
At 10:30 AM, the guided tours by bus or boat begin, and various food and drinks will be available for purchase on site. The event concludes at 2:00 PM.
